Gateway Pages :

Specially designed to rank high with a particular search engine for a particular keyword or phrase.

  • On that page, have an article or other information relating to specific subject (Paris)

  • DON'T try and target more than one keyword or phrase per page, your page must look "normal" to a visitor

Some or all of these are implemented:

  • The keyword is included in several key areas: the URL, the page TITLE, the <H>...</H> tags.

  • Keywords are included in the META keyword and description tags.

  • The page text is keyword dense.

  • You need repetition of the keyword or phrase; not too many times, but not too few either.

Find out what factors affect ranking in a given search engine.

Here's a very simple and helpful tip about keywords :

I looked at the top 5 or so sites listed under the keyword I was trying to show up under, I checked out their backwards links, and where appropriate I got every site that linked to them to link to me. I sent emails or submitted my site if it was a directory.

Keyword Density is one of the most important factors when it comes to search engine rankings.

Density, is basically how frequently a key phrase that you are trying to rank under appears on your site. For example, if "internet marketing" appears 5 times out of 100 words on your page, your keyword density is 5%.

The key to success is emulating the average of the Top ranked sites. Figure out the keyword density of the top 5 or 10 sites listed under a particular keyword, replicate it, and submit your own page.
